The Cairn is a 3 Star Visit Scotland approved, self catering holiday home situated in the very heart of the small conservation village of Aberlady in East Lothian, on the Firth of Forth – an area renowned for its natural beauty, sunny micro-climate, ornithology, cycling and world-class golf courses.
Fitted out and furnished to exacting standards and featuring high ceilings throughout, The Cairn comfortably accommodates up to four adults in what is a well-appointed self-catering holiday home. As well as the stunning sea views over Aberlady Bay nature reserve (a site of special scientific importance) at the front of the property, the rear overlooks the large south-facing, private garden and patio area.
Owned and run by a local couple who previously called The Cairn their home, they have lived in the village for over 30 years and are pleased to offer a personal service to holiday makers at The Cairn. They will do their best to make any extra arrangements you might need, prior to and during your stay. Being keen golfers and travellers themselves, this can vary from organising tee-times to airport transfers and imparting gems of “local knowledge” that may make your stay here even more memorable.
As well as offering literally doorstep accommodation for the majority of East Lothian’s attractions, The Cairn is very well serviced for transport links into Edinburgh. Buses and trains run at frequent intervals to allow the 25 minute journey to the major attractions of Scotland’s Capital city; events such as the Edinburgh International Festival, The Fringe, Military Tattoo, etc. as well as attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, museums, galleries and not forgetting ‘retail therapy’ outlets such as Harvey Nichols and Jenners.
